1.17 acres of beautiful desert land for sale in Yucca, Arizona about an hour from Kingman and Lake Havasu City! The property is covered with unique cactus, native plants and some cool rocks! It's in the Sacramento Valley nestled between the Black Mountains and the Hualapai Mountains about 7 miles E of Yucca.

It's within two hours of Las Vegas, Boulder City, Laughlin/Bullhead City, Lake Mead, Lake Havasu and the Colorado River! Its a quick drive to Kingman on Interstate 40 in a rural off grid country desert scape with plenty of privacy and gorgeous desert plants.

All of the photos were taken of the property and its surrounding views in August 2016. The best way to approach this property is from the North off of Boriana Mine Rd. There is a large wash running through this road. It might be difficult to pass during rain. The roads coming in from the South are very difficult and we bottomed out our Jeep trying to access it that way.

Yucca is actually a well-known place off Old Route 66 for the giant sized golf ball shaped house that sits on a pole in the air. We took Alamo Road east off the interstate to Boriana Mine Road. Both of these roads actually lead out to the area as seen in the maps. Desert View Road was a bladed dirt road that leads down the east side of the property. There were a few small intermittent streams along the road but just take it slow and a car will make it as long as its dry weather.

The giant sized golf ball shaped house at the exit off Interstate 40!

There are a few neighbors sprinkled about in their RV's enjoying the desert sunshine but you can hardly see them thru the tall vegetation so plenty of privacy! The property is zoned for a home or manufactured home and it is also zoned for year round RV use if septic is installed!

The Hualapai Mountains and McCracken Mountains are close by from the NE to SE with unique character in their hillsides and peaks! Hualapai means "People of the tall Pine" in the native Hualapai Indian language. In the higher elevations you will find bear, elk, mule deer, and mountain lions amongst the Ponderosa Pines.

Across the valley from the NW to the SW is the Black Mountains and a very long view of them - ahhhh nice with her cool cliffs along the top and great details! The Black Mesa is a notable mountain section since the entire Warm Springs Wilderness comprises the entire mesa. These rugged mountains are home to bighorn sheep and burros. The mesa is about ten miles long and rises about 1000 feet over the valley. The Black Mountains are bordered to the north by Lake Mead and Hoover Dam and the Colorado River on the west, and Kingman on the east. Within this 130 mile range are three wilderness areas.

The valley sits at the base of the Wabayuma Peak Wilderness (40,000 Acres) encircles an immense and pristine desert landscape. This wilderness is dominated by the 7,601-foot Wabayuma Peak. A series of massive ridges that extend from the peak in a semicircle to the north, south, and west, plunge nearly 5,000 feet to the desert floor below. The sheer size and scale of this rugged terrain guarantees a variety of challenging and interesting hikes, backpacking trips, horseback rides and nature study, and encourage extended overnight camping. Visitors can travel through desert shrub and ponderosa pine in one day and are afforded the opportunity for exceptional botanical and wildlife sightseeing within a relatively small geographic area.

I certainly don’t want to leave out the three famous fishing and boating hot spots in this region of Arizona along the Colorado River, Lake Mead, Lake Powell and close by Lake Havasu. I’ve dipped my toes in all of the lakes, swam and camped a few weekends at Loan Rock at Lake Powell in Glen Canyon, and stood on the London Bridge reconstructed at Lake Powell. And on Ambers 21st birthday in 2014, we floated the Colorado River with 25,000 other floaters at the Bullhead City River Regata on a big party float! Oh what a party that was on the river! I moved to Arizona in 2011 and sure have found a lot of time to play in the waters!

My first dip in Lake Havasu!

I've read that developers in the Yucca area back then showed photos of people out boating at Lake Havasu as if it was at their back door. I am not saying this particular subdivision were those same people. But over the years I have collected some of these old marketing materials as people I purchase from send them along - oh I love collecting and reading this old stuff!

Which makes me wonder, why did they have to be dishonest? All I can come up with is that they never went and looked. Because if they had been an explorer and lover of the desert, they would have appreciated that the yuccas were so tall here and represented the southern tip of the Mohave Desert. That some of the largest animals and a few endangered ones were in the surrounding area. Maybe they never went to the surrounding lakes camping and fishing. Maybe they didn’t look at a BLM map and realize that the precious lands that they were splitting up were surrounded by miles and miles of BLM land with very little private land in the area.

But they also didn't have the same research tools available today on the internet to research all this cool stuff! All day long I talk to customers seeking rural off grid property to go escape to just like this! And it makes me realize that many of these lands that were once called scams really are becoming our treasures today as it's just not easy to subdivide land any more and if you do it's not usually cheap. The power of the internet sure helps people find these places they want to escape to with their tiny houses! Like this farm girl, not everyone wants to live in the city within five minutes of the lake. But boy do I want to go and play there!

Be sure and bring plenty of water! You never know when you might get stranded and they say you should have a gallon of water per person per day with you. This is the Mojave Desert and temperatures can soar! The Mohave Deserts boundaries are usually defined by the presence of Yuccas (Joshua Trees) and this place is filled with them! The Mojave Desert is the driest of the North American deserts and supports between 1,750 and 2,000 species of plants.

I think this would be a lovely spot for a snowbird looking for a rural getaway to pull in their RV and enjoy that Arizona sunshine with very few people around! This is one of the few counties that allows year around RV use and its such a pretty lot with decent access. Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )

Lake Havasu, Lake Mead, Kingman, Yucca, Las Vegas, and Mojave Desert Area

All of these photos were taken on our journeys thru Tehachapi, Red Rock, the Mojave Desert, California City, Aerial Acres, Mojave, Barstow, Las Vegas, Lake Mead, Meadview, Lake Havasu, Yucca, and the Pacific Ocean. Whew!

I started traveling through this part around 2002. I saw towns like Victorville and Lancaster improving major roads. Then I started seeing lots of employees standing on street corners on the weekends with shaker signs pointing potential home buyers to come check out their new developments. I notice that Highway 14 which goes through Mojave to the Bakersfield-Barstow Highway had improvements being made to it in January 2007. I noticed quite a bit of new businesses in California City.

In May 2011 I was stunned to see the number of windmills that covered hillsides and valley floor as I made my way down to Mojave. The windmills came right to the western edge of the town.

I also saw quite a few solar projects down on the valley floor in Barstow! Holy cow is this place ever hopping with energy! We have had quite a few people asking us if we have any land for development there. I read in September 2011 that there is currently several planned solar projects in this area!

The Colorado River, Lake Mead, Lake Havasu and Lake Mohave make this the hot spot place to be for water sports in greater Southern California, Western Arizona and Southern Nevada!

A video of our journey to Meadview and the Pearce Ferry Landing in March 2017! We watched the Hualapai River Runners pull white water rafting boats coming from Peach Springs out of the Colorado River!
