39.17 acres land for sale between Denver and Albuquerque, 50 miles NE of Trinidad, Colorado in Las Animas Ranch. It is a rural property with a county road thru it and power only about 1/8 of a mile away! Only 40 acres away from the Pike and San Isabel National Forests. Views of the Rocky Mountains and Spanish Peaks from this rolling hills with scattered trees and prairie grass. Beautiful real estate in the middle of no where - way off the beaten path and hardly any one will find you out here! My notes say Pretty, Quiet, Remote, Peaceful, Beautiful!
All the photos are of the actual property and its surrounding views in October 2007. There is a good road, #133.8, off of the highway into the subdivision that is marked. We found a road through the southeast portion of the property. This is the dirt road seen in the photos below. It is a beautiful remote area and songbirds were filling the morning air! It is so quiet and peaceful out here! We spotted a few antelope on our way to the property and I included a few photos of them!
The East Bear Springs Arroyo, an intermittent stream/creek flows thru the N part of the property as seen in the aerial photos. It looks like it could flow pretty big sometimes! I believe it runs through the northeast corner of the property and you would need to find the corners to know for sure. We have inserted an aerial map below to show you how the two roads and stream go through the property. There is a pretty windmill for the cows watering trough that sits on this creek about 3/4 of a mile NW as the crow flies. There were several healthy cows and a few calves hanging out around it as we made out way back to the highway and I included a few photos of that as well.
This property sits on the down slope off of a gentle rolling hill which slopes down to the northwest as it flows to the open valley below! Just a fabulous view! It sits high enough, overlooking the valley from the west to the north. To the west is a cool view of a flat plateau atop one of the treed hills. There are more cool mountains to the east and northeast. There are trees filtering down it with scattered brush and grass. We drove down the road a bit further where we saw power running to a few different places only about 1/8 of a mile away!
Across the valley to the west are the Rocky Mountains, the Spanish Peaks and the Wet Mountains. At 13,123 feet, the Spanish Peaks can be seen across the National Grasslands for over 100 miles where the Rockies meet the Great Prairies! The Santa Fe National Historic Trail and Comanche National Grasslands start within a few miles of the property as seen in the BLM map.
Fort Carson Military Range aka the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site sits to the south a few miles as seen in the maps. It is Fort Carson Army's 235,896 acre training site.
I previously sold this property in 2007 and recently purchased it back and have not had a chance to view it since 2007. My customer indicated that they did not have a chance to view the property so I assume it remains undisturbed and as beautiful as it was in 2007.
I am constantly asked for big chunks of land in Colorado but I seldom come across them at the price range we sell. The least expensive 40 acre parcel I found in Las Animas County was asking $33,000! If you've been seeking a rural place to get away from it all be sure and check this one out! With a road through it and power so close you'll be hard pressed to find a nicer 39 acres in Colorado at this price! Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )
